This seems to be highly recommended now, so I made the jump. It seems to have worked.
Needed to re-enable ssh X11 forwarding by editing /etc/sshd/sshd_config and adding
Host *
XAuthLocation /usr/X11/bin/xauth
Three consecutive weeks (Prague, Brno and last week).
Review in progress on patch series.
